Internet of Things (IoT)
Over the past 20 years, the Internet has grown more complex and sophisticated. One of the results of this is the Internet of Things (IoT). Our ability to network computers has grown and processors have gotten cheaper, resulting in the ability to add computers to every device imaginable.
With the Internet of Things, even small appliances can communicate with each other, other computers, and even your smartphone!
The APSU GIS Center recognizes that the Internet of Things is around to stay and is performing new research into IoT technology in order to stay ahead of the technology curve.
